The inspiration behind the Sellamylome Resort was to create a structure that not only protects the environment but also provides a peaceful retreat for guests. Adil Okur drew inspiration from the organic forms and circular lines found in nature, as well as the colors of the sky, sea, plants, soil, and timber. The design process involved incorporating these elements to create a space that seamlessly integrates with its surroundings.
One of the standout features of the Sellamylome Resort is its facade, which features wavy forms reminiscent of the Mediterranean Sea. These wavy forms not only add visual interest but also serve a functional purpose. They are strategically designed to provide shade during the summer months and allow more sunlight to enter the rooms during winter, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests throughout the year.
In addition to the facade, the Sellamylome Resort also boasts terrace gardens and open spaces that allow guests to feel connected to nature from every room. The terrace gardens provide a tranquil oasis where guests can relax and enjoy the stunning views, while the open spaces create a sense of freedom and harmony with the surrounding environment.
The Sellamylome Resort incorporates eco-friendly and sustainable design practices. Local materials, such as reinforced concrete and natural wood, were used in its construction, minimizing the environmental impact. The resort's skylight, located above the main lobby, harnesses natural sunlight, reducing the need for artificial lighting and saving energy.
With a total land area of 14,000 square meters, the Sellamylome Resort features 430 rooms spread across 13 floors facing the sea and 6 floors at the entrance side. Each room is thoughtfully designed to offer a sea view, ensuring that guests can enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean from the comfort of their own space.
The Sellamylome Resort offers a range of facilities and amenities, including a pool, kids pool, aquapark, amusement park, amphitheater, shops, cafes, snack bars, beach bar, mini club, and ala carte restaurants. The shops and snack bars are designed like a city street, providing guests with a unique shopping and dining experience.
The Sellamylome Resort project began in October 2018 and was completed in a timely manner. The design team, led by Adil Okur, overcame various challenges, including the significant elevation difference between the entrance level and sea level. Through innovative planning and design solutions, they were able to create a visually striking and functional structure that harmonizes with its surroundings.
The Sellamylome Resort has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2019, which honors well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the resort's commitment to excellence in architecture and design.
Experience the perfect blend of luxury and nature at the Sellamylome Resort. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea, relax in the terrace gardens, and indulge in the resort's world-class amenities. This eco-friendly haven is a true testament to the harmony that can be achieved between human-made structures and the natural world.
